The importance of cakes in the country

Yesterday I bought a copy of the East Anglian Daily Times and read the following article.

“A YOUNG man who went on a one-night crime spree culminating in six arson attacks, criminal damage to a school and stealing cakes from a bakery has avoided being sent to jail.”

The article continues: “Following the arsons and vandalism, Norgan then raided Reads bakery in Bridge Street where he stole food to the value of £30. Among the items taken were three chocolate sponge cakes, a coffee cake and two chocolate-chip cakes. In addition a cherry and walnut cake, a portion of cheese straws, two cheese rusks and four bits of shortbread were also stolen.”

I guess that’s the difference when you live in the country, people care more about the cakes that were stolen than the cars that were torched!
